Support is disclosed. It doesn't change the write-up.
Every component on this site is written up the same way regardless of how it was obtained: what it is, why it was chosen, what it cost, and how it's holding up. A manufacturer discount or a supplied part doesn't upgrade or downgrade that write-up — it only adds one short, factual disclosure line next to the part it applies to.
There's no single “partner” tier that lumps a 10% discount in with a full sponsorship. Support is disclosed at the level it actually happened, right on the component it applies to — not bundled into a separate list that makes every relationship look the same size.
How support is disclosed
Selected component
The default for everything on this site. Purchased at full price because it was the right engineering choice for the build — no relationship with the manufacturer at all.
Discount provided
Purchased at a reduced price from the manufacturer or a retailer. The write-up doesn't change — same reasoning, same trade-offs, same honesty about what didn't work. Only a short line discloses the discount.
Product supplied
The component itself was provided at no cost. Disclosed plainly next to that part, same as a discount would be.
Sponsored / ongoing collaboration
A deeper, ongoing relationship with a manufacturer across a project or multiple projects. The most involved tier, and the one disclosed most visibly.
What your product actually gets here
- A permanent decision-log entry: why it was chosen, what it was chosen over, what it cost, and what the trade-offs were.
- An honest long-term follow-up once it's installed and used — including if it disappoints. Nothing gets quietly deleted.
- Fitment context other owners can act on: exact vehicle, configuration, tire size, and tow load, not a vague build thread.
- A written record aimed at owners researching the same part, which is a longer-lived audience than a post that scrolls away.
What it doesn't get is a guaranteed win. If a competitor is the better engineering answer for this truck, that's what the log will say.

19 component decisions on the current flagship build are still open, and nothing has been ordered. The alternatives under consideration are published rather than hidden, so you can see exactly what you'd be measured against before you spend a minute on it.
